Breuil - Cervinia, Italy

Snowboard, Ski

Cervinia is located at the foot of Mount Cervino, next to the Breuil basin in Italy. For many years it was the headquarters for mountaineers and also for studies about the exceptional wildlife and flowers that coexist on this steep terrain. The creation of the Breuil – Plan Maison cable car in 1936 marked the beginning of an era for skiers in this area. The Aosta Valley utilises high technology with some of the fastest lifts. They also use the e-skipass and web applications allowing you to obtain specific information about the weather reports, the lift status and snow coverage etc.
Thanks to the altitude, the quantity and quality of snow is guaranteed. You’ll have 156 vertical kilometres of slopes with very good off piste options from Colle Sup and Cime Bianche, not to mention the added extra of the whole of the Zermatt resort if you buy the complete lift pass. Freestylers can test their air skills at the three snowparks, two in Cervinia and another in Valtournenche. The Indianpark Snowpark which was created in 2003, is designed for those who have freestyle experience, no matter what level, as there are elements to suit all. It covers more than four hectares and is 400 metres long and 100 metres wide. It has a sound system, numerous kickers, rails and other elements to hone your skills with.

The Cervinia Cool Park can be found at the base of the station, near to the Campetto chairlift. It’s a beginner park and includes a snowboardercross course with six parabolic curves, four mini kickers, two butter boxes, a mini pyramid, a tube and a ratatà. The Wild West Zone in Valtournenche is dedicated to young learners and beginners as it has a playground, snow tubing (at an extra cost) and a beginner ski area along with the beginner snowpark.

The season usually starts at the end of October and, depending on the season’s conditions, stays open until the end of April. With more than 75 years of history, the station is organised and maintained to an excellent standard and you will always find it in perfect condition, but the ideal time to organise your visit is during January and February when there is more precipitation and therefore, fresh snow.
