Pascuales

Colima - Pacific Coast Mexico , Mexico

You may be surprised to see a city scattered with many palm trees when you arrive at Tecomán, justifying its nickname ‘The city of palms’. It has a great variety of services, good hotels, bars, green zone, shops and many kiosks selling ‘Tuba’ or refreshing coconut water. The region has excellent quality seafood and there are some specialities on the menus that you should try, such as the seafood and fish soup or the garlic shrimps. The areas next to the beach are ideal for buying souvenirs as they sell marine crafts, earrings, necklaces and wooden carvings of marine animals.

In the immediate surroundings of the city there are two places that are dedicated to animal conservation which you can visit. The eco crocodile sanctuary ‘El Cocodrilario’ is where you’ll be able to see fourteen different crocodile species of different sizes and ages, and in the turtle sanctuary ‘Camp Chupadero’  the workers are doing an important job of protecting the marine turtles and providing education about the environment.
