Sierra Nevada has a beautiful natural setting with its high peaks, and fauna and flora make it a special and unique place where you can enjoy outdoor sports. The network of trekking routes in the National Park in the environment around the station are a good alternative to keep in mind. In Pradollano you’ll find numerous shops offering equipment rental and other things when the snow conditions aren’t favourable. In the summer you can rent mountain bikes and ride down a spectacular route on the Velata that ends in the city. This route was designed for the mountain bike world championships and it’s an assured adrenaline rush whilst being surrounded by idyllic scenery.
Another option is to go trekking with snowshoes and ascend the 3.305 metres up to the Veleta on the west side. Sledge and skidoo rides are also available. The Alhambra, in the west of the city of Granada, with its Nasrid Palace is well worth visiting. The picturesque Albaicín neighbourhood is a unique place where its narrow streets and tea shops take you back in time.
