As Vail is a world class station, the calendar is full of excellent events throughout the whole year, one of the highlights is the Vail Snow Daze music festival which is celebrated in April. The Burton US Open, which has been celebrated since 1982 and is the longest running snowboard competition, stops at Vail every year and brings with it the best snowboarders in the world such as Shaun White, Mark McMorris, Kelly Clark and the recent Olympic medallist Iouri Podladtchikov.
Spring Back to Vail is the biggest end of season party with free concerts and a lively atmosphere. The World Pond Skimming Championship is also celebrated in April. Along with these events, the Vail Nordic School, located in Golden Peak, offer snowshoe tours, cross country skiing and off piste excursions for all levels. Ask about the route that takes you towards Tenessee, passing through Leadville.
Vail Village has a sense of luxury about it, with pedestrian friendly heated streets, free transport throughout the village, many shops, chill out zones and excellent and varied gastronomy options. The nightlife is buzzing as the village is full of bars and clubs. For those who visit with children, the massive Adventure Ridge - Tubing Park will provide a fun experience with tube rides, ski bikes, a kids snowmobile track, ziplines, games and much more. There’s also a bistro so you can relax with some food and a drink whilst watching the sunset.
