It’s probably one of the longest waves in the world of windsurfing. The light winds come from the left, giving side offshore conditions, and it’s normal to sail with a bigger board and 4.7 to 5.3 metre sails. The first part of the wave is more powerful and more vertical and the later sections fall allowing you to be on the wave for over a minute. You can do jumps but it’s more of a surf spot. The wave is good for all levels and it’s perfect to try many wave riding manoeuvres. The Pacasmayo bay is very large and the sandbank creates big waves but although the sea conditions are enormous, you can always sail there.

Es quizás una de las olas más largas del mundo para windsurf. El viento es de izquierda, side offshore y flojo. Se navega normalmente con bastante volumen de tabla y velas de 4.7 a 5.3. El comienzo de la ola es más potente y más vertical, después van cayendo secciones llegando a poder estar en la ola más de un minuto. Se puede saltar pero es más un spot de surf. La ola es para todos los niveles y se pueden probar muchas maniobras de waveriding. La bahía de Pacasmayo es muy grande y el banco de arena aguanta muchísimo tamaño de ola, aunque el mar esté enorme siempre se puede navegar.

Pacasmayo is considered as one of the best places in the world for windsurfing. It’s a fun place for experts as it has very big waves, but it is also a nice, easy place for intermediates. The big waves often arrive at the end of April until mid June and at the end of August until mid October. The rest of the year the waves are average size. With the exception of February, the wind blows all year round and there is a light to moderate period of between 12 and 20 knots in the afternoons. With the big winter swells the waves are long and can reach mast height, but there are also good waves with the smaller swells. The beach, which doesn’t usually get crowded, has three sections with different waves, making it perfect for various levels. Important events are held there, such as the International Windsurfing Championship.

Pacasmayo es considerado como uno de los mejores lugares en el mundo para windsurf. Es un lugar de diversión para expertos, ya que tiene olas muy grandes, pero también puede ser fácil para un nivel intermedio.
