It’s located just below the I-95 highway bridge so the central part is protected from the rain and snow. July, August and September are the driest months.

Local skaters began constructing the FDR Skatepark in Philadelphia in 1994 under an overpass on Interstate 95, thanks to the work of the skaters, volunteers and donations for materials. Over time it has gradually expanded into what is now a park with high speed transitions. It has several areas, the main park (which is under the bridge), the pool, a mini ramp and a half pipe. This park has a lot of history and you can find images of FDR in some of the legendary skate videos, in video games and there is even a 168 page documentary book, of which the benefits received by the authors go towards the maintenance and expansion of FDR.
FDR Skatepark comenzó a ser construido por patinadores locales en Filadelfia en 1994, bajo un paso elevado en la carretera interestatal 95. Fue posible gracias al trabajo de los Skaters, voluntarios y las donaciones para los materiales. Con el paso del tiempo ha ido ampliándose poco a poco hasta lo que ahora es, un parque con transiciones de alta velocidad. Tiene varias zonas, el parque principal (que está bajo el puente), la piscina, una mini ramp y un half pipe. Este parque tiene mucha historia, podemos encontrar imágenes del FDR en videos míticos de Skate, en videojuegos y hasta existe un libro documental de 168 páginas, cuyos beneficios recibidos por los autores irán hacia el mantenimiento y la expansión del FDR.
A visit to the National Historic Park is a must in whilst in Philadelphia, there you’ll find the Liberty Ball Center and the Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed. Entrance is free but it gets busy quickly so you should go early. Franklin Square is a beautiful place to relax with family or friends, especially in the summer. Take a ride on the nice antique carousel, have fun playing mini golf with all the city’s symbols or relax in the park after a visit to the National Constitution Center.
Along Arch Street you can see many interesting places like Elfreth’s Alley, the oldest street in the country. The home of Betsy Ross, who was the designer of the United States flag and U.S. Mint, where money is printed. The National Constitution Center and the Federal Reserve are where exhibitions about the economy are on display. The Philadelphia Art Museum is world renowned and is home to the 99 steps made famous in the movie Rocky Balboa. The statue of Rocky is at the bottom of the steps.
Independence National Historic Park es una de las visitas obligadas en Filadelfia, aquí se encuentra el Liberty Bell Center y el Independence Hall, donde se firmó la declaración de independencia. Las entradas son gratuitas, pero se agotan rápido, hay que ir temprano. Franklin Square es una bonita parada, un lugar para relajarse con la familia o amigos, especialmente en verano. Será agradable un paseo en el antiguo carrusel, divertirse jugando al minigolf con todos los símbolos de la ciudad, o relajarse en el parque después de visitar el centro de la Constitución Nacional.

Allí se encuentran los 99 escalones que se hicieron famosos en la película de Rocky Balboa. Al bajar las escaleras se encuentra la estatua de Rocky.
