There is little rain throughout most of the year and so it’s good to skate at any time even though it’s an outdoor park, but you have to take the monsoon season into account (mid July to August) as it brings winds, lightning, storms and torrential rain.
Llueve poco durante todo el año, con lo que viene bien para patinar en cualquier época, contando que el parque se encuentra al aire libre. Si hay que tener en cuenta la temporada de monzón (de mediados de julio a agosto) que trae consigo vientos, relámpagos, tormentas y lluvias torrenciales.
The park was built in honour of the soldier and BMX rider Patrick Tinnell, and also the rider Colin Sasseen. In honour of Patrick they built a custom section in the shape of the helmet that he used in the military. In Colin’s memory they made a big concrete “C” at the bottom of the stairs. The course design was inspired by the Street League skate plaza-style course which was skated by professionals in the 2013 X Games in Brazil. It has two distinct parts, ramp and street. If you’ve seen the Street League, you’ll know what the street part is like. The ramp area consists of a heart-shaped pool and an amazing bowl full of all kinds of curves and transitions.
El parque se construyó en homenaje al soldado y rider de BMX Patrick Tinnell, y también al rider Colin Sasseen. En honor a Patrick se construyó un módulo personalizado con la forma del casco que usó en el ejército. En memoria de Colin se hizo en el hormigón una gran “C” en la parte inferior del set de escaleras. El diseño del circuito está inspirado en el skate plaza de la Street League patinado por skaters profesionales en el 2013 X Games de Brasil. Tiene dos partes bien diferenciadas de rampa y calle. Si has visto la Street League, la parte de calle ya sabes cómo es. La zona de rampa consta de una piscina en forma de corazón y de un increíble bowl repleto de todo tipo de curvas y transiciones.
Lake Havasu, Arizona State Park and the commercial centre island are nearby places of interest. There are a multitude of paths and hiking routes in the desert and mountains which are nearby. You can also get to know the city by opting for a bird’s eye view whilst being flown over the scenic landscape by plane or helicopter. It’s sunny nearly the whole year round, and so there are many opportunities to do outdoor physical activities.
El Lago Havasu, el Arizona State Park y la isla del centro comercial son lugares cercanos de interés. Existen multitud de caminos y rutas de senderismo por el desierto y las montañas cercanas. También puedes optar por conocer la ciudad a vista de pájaro, mientras te elevas sobre el paisaje escénico en avión o helicóptero. Casi todo el año está soleado, por lo tanto, las posibilidades de realizar actividades físicas al aire libre son enormes.
