The best time of year to sail is from August to December and in April and May. It’s not as consistent as Lobitos and Piscina but it’s an alternative option if they aren’t working.

Baterías is located two kilometres south of Lobitos, in the Piura region. It’s an exposed beach with a wave that only sometimes has suitable conditions. It’s not as consistent as Lobitos and Piscina but it’s an alternative option when they aren’t working. The wind component is normally SE and the beachbreaks offer lefthanders. It’s not a crowded beach and the best time to sail is in spring and summer, so from August to December and in April and May. Other nearby windsurf spots in Piura are Cabo Blanco, Tres Cruces, Negritos, Panic Point, El Ñuro, Piscinas, Pocitas Beach, Vichayito, Los Órganos, Talara and Lobitos.
Baterías se encuentra a dos kilómetros al sur de Lobitos, en la región de Piura. Se trata de una playa expuesta, la cual posee una ola que sólo a veces tiene las condiciones idóneas, no es tan consistente como Lobitos y Piscina, pero es una alternativa cuando estas no funcionan. El viento normalmente sopla de componente SE y los beach breaks ofrecen izquierdas. Es una playa poco concurrida, la mejor época para navegar es en primavera y verano, es decir, de agosto a diciembre y los meses de abril y mayo. The history of Lobitos speaks for itself. There are large abandoned houses all over the village, creating an appearance similar to the Wild West. The Sacred Heart of Jesus church and the administrative offices of the old oil wells are constructions that are now protected by national laws. Talara is a 15 minute drive south at 1137 kilometres on the North Pan-American Highway, between the millenary Cerros Amotape and La Brea, which form part of the Cerros Amotape National Park. In this city you can visit the Miguel Grau portrait, the cathedral, the Civic Centre, Park 44, the El Tablazo neighbourhood and the statue of Jesus in the Talara Alta Park. The carnivals are very popular, especially at Easter, so it’s not unusual to see the city full of people in March or April, coinciding with these holidays.
La historia del pueblo de Lobitos habla por sí misma. Hay grandes casas abandonadas por todo el pueblo, confiriéndole un aspecto similar al del lejano oeste. La Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús y el edificio de oficinas administrativas del antiguo refugio petrolero son construcciones que se encuentran protegidas por leyes nacionales. Talara se encuentra a 15 minutos en coche en dirección Sur, a la altura del kilómetro 1137 de la carretera Panamericana Norte, entre los milenarios Cerros Amotape y La Brea, que forman parte de Parque Nacional Cerros de Amotape. En esta ciudad puedes visitar el Retrato de Miguel Grau, la Catedral, el Centro Cívico, Parque 44, el barrio El Tablazo y la estatua de Jesús en el parque de Talara Alta. Los Carnavales son fiestas muy populares, al igual que La Semana Santa, así que no es de extrañar ver la ciudad llena de gente en marzo o abril, coincidiendo con dichas festividades.
