It’s a powerful and fast left with barrel sections. A low rising tide is best. The wind, which is side shore, often comes at around 11 am and starts to drop at 8 am. The first section breaks in front of some rocks and after it’s sandy but the wave picks up speed and becomes more vertical there. It is easy to get in and out as it’s a sandy beach.

El viento suele entrar a partir de las 11:00 y empieza a bajar a partir de las 20:00. La dirección del viento es side shore. La primera sección de la ola rompe delante de unas rocas y después hay arena pero la ola empieza a ponerse más rápida y vertical. La entrada y salida es por una playa de arena muy fácil para entrar y salir.

In Navidad you’ll find Matanzas, an exposed reefbreak which has very consistent waves. It’s a world class spot with well known waves like ‘Roca Cuadrada’, and where events like the Surazo Windsurf Cup are celebrated. The best time of year is during the winter when the spot mainly works with gusty offshore wind at high tide, but it also works well near the shoreline with cross shore just north of the city.

The climate conditions, with winds of up to 30 knots, have transformed this place into one of the best options for riders that want strong wind. Each season there are more windsurfers there thanks to the good climate conditions, the quietness of the spot, not only when you’re sailing but also to enter and exit the water, as well as the incredible places and virgin nature, which you can see for yourself when you are there.

En Navidad se encuentra Matanzas, un reef break expuesto que tiene olas muy consistentes, un spot de clase mundial con olas tan reconocidas como ‘Roca Cuadrada’ y donde se celebran eventos como ‘The Surazo Windsurf Cup’. La mejor época es el invierno y la principal ruptura de este spot es generalmente bastante pequeña con viento racheado offshore en alta mar, pero más grande y más limpio es el cross-shore en la orilla, justo al norte de la ciudad.
