The spot needs E swells bigger than 1 m. The left side of the bay is protected from the E winds that usually come with the swell. If the period is good enough, at least 8 s, the wave holds and you can have a good session with long fun rides, but if the wind is from the W or if it’s glassy and there’s still swell, then you can have one of those sessions to remember. It’s a spot for all levels and it’s never crowded.

The right side of the bay, is perfect for windsurfing and kitesurfing as the wind is onshore and it’s easy to get a waveride every time you come in. It’s not uncommon to have people from all surf sports, enjoying the spot at the same time.

Es un spot que funciona con swells del E con tamaño superiores al metro, la parte izquierda de la bahía está protegida de los vientos del E que suelen acompañar al swell. Si el periodo es bueno, por encima de los 8 s, la ola aguanta y podrás darte un baño con olas variables largas y divertidas, aunque si el viento es del W o casi inexistente y queda swell, el baño puede ser de los que recordarás durante meses. Es un spot para surfers de todos los niveles y nunca encontrarás mucha gente en el agua. La parte derecha de la bahía ofrece unas condiciones idóneas para el windsurf y el Kitesurf, el viento muy on shore te permitirá en casi todas las salidas coger una ola y conseguir un giro en back side seguido de front side. No es raro encontrarte en la bahía a la gente disfrutando, a la vez, de las distintas disciplinas del deslizamiento.

Genoveses beach is surrounded by an amazing natural environment and a volcanic landscape which is rare in the Mediterranean. The spot is in the Cabo de Gata Natural Park – Nijar. The water is so pristine that your first impression when you see it, is ‘we have to protect this’. It’s a virgin beach, which is wide and enjoyable all year long for all kinds of surf sports but the best time to surf is from autumn to spring. E swell generates variable waves, but with a powerful W swell, there’s a very good left in the bay, known as the ‘Hawaiian’ for it’s quality. There’s a big car park close to the beach however the access is closed during the summer, you only can enter if you go very early in the morning. It’s the perfect place for a surfari.

La playa de Genoveses se encuentra ubicada en un entorno natural espectacular, una belleza paisajística de origen volcánico difícil de encontrar en el Mediterráneo. El spot se encuentra enclavado en pleno Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata – Nijar, la claridad y limpieza de sus aguas no hacen más que avalar la necesidad de protección. Es una playa virgen amplia que puede disfrutarse durante todo el año para la realización de distintas actividades de deslizamiento, el periodo entre el Otoño y la Primavera es la mejor época. Funciona con swell del E generando olas variables, con swells muy fuerte de poniente aparece una muy buena izquierda en la bahía, conocida entre algunos locales como la ” hawaiana ” por su calidad. Posee un amplio parking cerca del mar, el acceso durante el verano está cortado, sólo podrás entrar si lo haces muy temprano, es el lugar ideal para tu surfari.
